Professor Joel. B. Babalola

Joel Babatunde Babalola was born on 19^th August, 1954 at Ipoti-Ekiti.  He is a Professor of Educational Management in the Department of Educational Management, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. He holds Ph.D from the same University of Ibadan in 1988. Professor Babalola is a highly experienced and exposed professional teacher who has taught at primary, secondary and tertiary levels of education. He started his university teaching career as a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Educational Management, University of Ibadan in 1986.  Since then, he has moved up the ladder from Lecturer II (1989-1991), through Lecturer I (1992-1995) to Senior Lecturer (1995 to 2001) and to grade of a Professor in 2001.  Along his career path, he served as the Sub-Dean (Undergraduate) in the University of Ibadan between 1991 and 1993, Lecturer at the University of Zambia, Lusaka, Zambia in 1997, Head of Educational Planning and Policy Unit, University of Ibadan (1999-2001), Acting Head of Department of Educational Management, University of Ibadan (2001–2003) and a Visiting Professor and the founding Head of Department of Educational Management at Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode, Nigeria (2006). Professor Babalola was the Dean of the Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan, Nigeria between 2009 and 2011.

He has served as External Examiner in more than 20 universities both inside and outside Nigeria.  He served as a Programme Evaluator and External Examiner in the University of Botswana, Gaborone.  Professor Babalola is actively engaged in community services.
