Dr Abiodun Olumide AYENI was born on 21 December, 1967 and hails from Ilesa, Ilesa West Local Government Area of Osun State. He had his B.Sc(Ed) in Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in 1992 and his M.Ed and Ph.D from the Department of Educational Management, University of Ibadan in 1996 and 2003 respectively. His area of specialization is Economics of Education. His working experience started at the University of Ibadan as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Educational Management, University of Ibadan in 1998. He became a Lecturer II in 2003, Lecturer I in 2006 and in 2009, Senior Lecturer.

His research interest is in the area of Economics of Education, Technical and Vocational Education. He had published widely in both local and foreign journals.

He rose to the rank of a Reader in 2013. As at March 2013, he was on Sabbatical Appointment with the Lead City University, Ibadan. Dr Ayeni was the Editor-In-Chief (i) Journal of Nigerian Association for Educational Administration and Planning (NAEAP) (ii) African Journal of Educational Management(AJEM). Furthermore, he is the Financial Secretary, Higher Education Research and Policy Network (HERPNET) and also Member, Board of Trustees of Kappa Delta Pi, Nigeria Chapter.
